My self-portrait series began as a simple attempt to preserve a memory of the places I have been. While these photos are private, in that they share moments of my life that no one would otherwise witness, I found that I infused my public persona into this personal time. I intended to portray myself and be remembered as beautiful, graceful and poised. Consequently, I created a character. While the photos document places I have been, the woman in the mirror is in essence a performance for us, the viewers.
